In 2012, Greensburg GreenTown and GreenTown Joplin teamed up with the Saint Louis University Center for Sustainability  to plan our first Sustainable Disaster Recovery Conference. It was a great success and set the stage for what is now an annual event. While the speakers and themes will vary from year to year, the core mission of the conference remains the same:

The Sustainable Disaster Recovery Conference series aims to help cities stricken by natural disasters rebuild strong, livable communities by identifying ways to efficiently and effectively weave elements of sustainability into the disaster recovery process, while increasing collaboration among all parties working toward this goal.
